Rise Together: Team End Polio Strava Challenge

The world has made huge strides against polio with cases down 99.9% since 1988, but children are still being paralyzed by polio today. The last stretch to eradicate polio is the hardest.

That’s why we need renewed global attention and commitment so we can protect children everywhere against polio and all preventable diseases. As with any challenge, we are stronger when we work as a team.

Rise Together is a movement challenge designed to unite communities through physical activity while driving awareness and action to achieve a polio-free future for all.

From April 24 (World Immunization Week) through May 24 (European Public Health Week), Rise Together participants will all contribute towards the collective goal of completing 40 million minutes of movement for the 20 million people able to walk today thanks to efforts against polio, and the 20 million health workers and volunteers dedicated to ending polio.

Hosted as a challenge on Strava, Rise Together is designed to be inclusive and accessible, inviting people of all abilities to take part whether it’s running, cycling, swimming, wheelchair biking, or any activity that motivates them.

By the end of the month, participants will have contributed towards our collective target on Strava - symbolizing their commitment to protecting the health of children everywhere.
